Westside Gunn just released a music video, “Liz Loves Luger” from his one and only Shady Records album, “Who Made The Sunshine“. “Liz” features Griselda Records relative newcomer, Armani Caesar (though their history is lengthy). Caesar’s ‘GxFR’ debut project is coincidentally titled “The Liz“. “Liz, Luger” are yet another ode to wrestling legends by ‘WSG’.
In typical ‘Fly God’s fashion, LLL features some NSFW lyrics. While Armani sing-raps about love and loyalty, WSG gets right to it, crooning:
“P*$$Y taste the sweetest”, “I’m bout to nut in you/I can’t get up out you”
The Kid Art directed video’s main scenes are shot in a hotel, featuring a glitter masked man being dragged by Westside & Armani down a hallway. In a body bag, we can only presume the man is dead, also he sits atop a hotel room bed as Caesar teases the man. Shot in Kid Art’s typical “dark” style, the visual runs exactly 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
Kid Art got his industry start by completing a string of videos for Pusha T‘s “Darkest Before Dawn” album, in 2015. Interestingly enough, Art uses actual film to shoot his music videos. This may be what gives his visuals its unique look and feel, besides his eye for shots. The director & cinematographer has gone on to work with industry veterans 2 Chainz, Future, Yo Gotti and the late, great Nipsey Hussle. ‘Kid’ has also developed his very own film production company, Chariot Pictures.
Speaking of “kid art”, Westside Gunn’s “Who Made The Sunshine” album artwork was actually done by his own daughter. WSG fulfilled his contract with Eminem‘s Shady imprint with just one album. The “Pray For Paris” rapper is now a free agent.
As we’ve previously mentioned, ‘Gunn’ pledged retirement starting in 2021. Since then, he’s released 3 solo project in 2020 and this year (2021) he’s dropped a single with Wale and Smoke DZA, titled “The Hurt Business”. The single served as a teaser for the soundtrack to Griselda’s first film, ‘Convicted’, starring Benny The Butcher. The tape also features brand new heat from Lloyd Banks, Dave East, Benny, Armani Caesar, Boldy James and more.
