Plenty of music dropped in the last few days from an array of artists. Here are some of the top picks for this edition of “Weekend Music“:
First up is Busta Rhymes with the remix to his kick-off single “Czar” featuring M.O.P (verses from Lil Fame and Billy Danze this time) & newcomer CJ, whose YouTube smash “Whoopty” is currently at 136 million views in only 5 months. In the new version, Busta refers to an album, presumably his latest a LP, “Extinction Level Event 2: Wrath Of God” as a “classic”. The music video seems to pay homage and take a page from older remix videos and classic crew cuts. Busta even wears a jacket reminiscent of the one he wore in the “Flava In Ya Ear (Remix)“, where he featured alongside Craig Mack, Notorious B.I.G, LL Cool J and Rampage Tha Last Boy Scout. Second is BSF‘s ‘Heem’ featuring Benny The Butcher and Rick Hyde “It Could Happen“. The cut comes from Heem x Dj Green Latern‘s “Long Story Short” mixtape. In the “@wi3ard” directed visual, Benny questions how simple decisions could have altered the fate of some of Hip-Hop‘s most well-known tragic endings sptting: “What if Pop Smoke would’ve survived them shots?/ What if (FBG) Duck ain’t make that last song, dissin his opps/ What if Biggie knew what happened at Quad when they hit Pac?/“. Heem also dropped “Menace To Society“:
Last week, Sheek Louch snuck out “ONYX” featuring Lil Fame from the 10-track project, 2020’s ‘Beast Mode 4‘. “BM4” earned a dope review on G-HOLY.com. In the music video, the D-Block general and ‘Lil Fizzy’ can be seen depicting assumed illegal transfers of money through a laundromat with help from women friends. To start the track, you’ll hear a rendition of the legendary 3-man rap group Onyx’ flow from their hit single “Throw Ya Gunz“. “ONYX” is shot by “NYJTHEOFFICIAL“. Peep the visual below:
