Tyga has just released the single “For the Night” three days ahead of his new mixtape. The rapper’s new project ‘Well Done Fever’, is set to drop on Christmas Day. Listeners may recognize Tyga’s single as homage to Pop Smoke’s “For The Night” featuring Lil Baby.
Tyga seems to refocus his energy on new music as much of his time this year involved other business ventures, such as starring on OnlyFans and creating a virtual chicken restaurant called TygaBites.
‘Well Done Fever’ is Tyga’s first mixtape set for release since signing his major record deal with Columbia Records in 2019. Before deciding to return to major labels, Tyga spent a full year as an independent artist releasing smash hits like “Taste” as part of his last album Legendary. The rapper just released a tracklist for his new project.
However, audience members can anticipate this mixtape as a step in a more global direction.
Tyga discussed his deal with Variety back in 2019 stating, “I have a lot of fans worldwide — in places I’ve never been like South America, and in places I have been like Asia and Europe. They can help bring that to a larger scale. Doing it independently, you don’t really have those teams to help worldwide.” With the rapper’s intentions in mind, fans could expect to hear more flavorful collaborations and sounds similar to “Haute” featuring Chris Brown and J Balvin and Ayy Macarena.
“Well Done Fever” will be hosted by Dj Drama similar to his “Well Done”mixtape released in 2010. Tyga and Dj Drama’s earlier work included covers of Trey Songz “Can’t Be Friends” and Soulja Boy’s “Pretty Boy Swag”, alike his “For the Night” rendition. Fans can also anticipate additional covers on Well Done Fever”. The mixtape will be available exclusively through DatPiff and WellDoneFever.com 12/25/20.
