Gangsta Gibbs teamed up with Hit-Boy and Big Sean to win it all with “4 Thangs”. Apparently, this is the first single to drop from ‘ESGN 2‘. Though, not officially stated, ‘ESGN 2‘ gear is now available in conjunction with”4 Peat” merch celebrating the release of the single.
Hit-Boy has been on quite a run this year, despite covid-19 all but ruining artists rollouts and events. He’s produced majority of ‘King’s Disease‘ for Nas, ‘Burden Of Proof‘ for Benny The Butcher, a Conway The Machine and Dej Loaf collaboration “Fear Of God” from ‘FKTG‘ and now “4 Thangs”. Not to mention Big Sean’s comeback effort, “Detroit 2“. When asked how Big Sean ended up on “Timeless“ from ‘Burden Of Proof’, Benny said they met through Hit-Boy in the studio where Nas was also cooking his next album which would end up being ‘King’s Disease’.
Gibbs has been on his own tear, releasing ‘Alfredo‘ with The Alchemist, just one year after the critically-acclaimed “Bandana” with producer, Madlib. Bandana was Freddie Gibbs‘ first album on a major label, RCA Records. This may have been a one or two album deal though, seeing that the Gary, Indiana rapper signed to Warner Records in June of this year (2020). ‘Alfredo’ came to us via ESGN Records, ALC Records and Empire Distribution.
