I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but G Herbo has been having his way this last 2 weeks. He’s definitely making his bid for Rap’s MVP in convincing fashion.
On July 2, 2021 Herbo released his third solo LP ‘25′, following 2020’s PTSD. 25 is Swervo’s most complete, well-rounded project to date. There are almost equal parts every version of him here, including Lil Herb & Swervo. It’s quite possibly his best album and the numbers (46,000 first week sales, 44k SEA) show. No single. No real promo.
On July 8, he took his talents to DJ Self and completely lost his mind…
On the SAME DAY, he walked a few New York City blocks down to Hot 97 and burned Flex down. The most impressive part is that it’s a totally different Freestyle from what he spit at Self’s show. Also, neither group of rhymes appear on his album. Seems Herbo crafted these specifically for the programs they appear on. Dedication.
Just one day later, on July 9: No More Heroes (YouTube channel) dropped “Switch It Up” with Pooh Sheisty X G Herbo.

If G Herbo pops out with another full length project before 2021 is out (presuming it’s good), he may be a lock for MVP candidature .
