What city do you hail from?

Washington, D.C.

How did you get started?

Listening to my big cousins. I always told myself I wanted to be just like Michael [Jackson]; he was the world’s biggest musician at the time. To me, he was still at the peak of his career but [I never] thought of doing music myself. I was trying to be king of the blacktop, yet I wanted to always have people loving me, as I did and sports through music. So, watching Lil Wayne made me believe I can do anything I want. [It was] his style charisma, enthusiasm [and] love of the game.

Name your biggest influence…

Michael Jackson, Allen Iverson, Lil Wayne, my Mom; everybody. I need[ed the] structure.

Describe your “Come-Up” so far…

It’s been nice; a bit rocksteady. About three years into this and I have seen a few things. Just all about consistency. How are you in life is based on the individual. Help or support is cool. Just don’t go chasing waterfalls, unless you know it’s something on the other side. I knew that I was born to be something in this lifetime I hold myself accountable, put the pedal through the max. This is what got me here today. For every dream that shatter[s], another one is born.

What’s your biggest challenge as an artist?

To always remain humble and then at peace with oneself.

Describe your songmaking process…

Sometimes I’m home or the studio, maybe the car. My imagination put me in different vibes. You might make a hard beat and I go [stupid] on it or vice versa. Timing is everything and I don’t rush.

What legacy will you leave?

I pray that my legacy becomes a foundation built on a street called love for people to understand that it’s OK to be different. To feel unaccepted, that should make you work harder and smarter to a better situation. My legacy is just beginning to an everlasting ending.

Plug your new single/project…

My new single is called “Birthday“. [It’s the] type that plays in the car, club, or boat. I wouldn’t say house because you might set the roof on fire [laughing]. “Say My Name” was released February 2, 2022. It’s a story being told on most singles and videos coming soon. Thank you.
